The junior research group of Dr. Dulin is now in the Interdisciplinary Center for Nanostructured Films (IZNF) and can use the fantastic infrastructure there.

Results are published in Cell Death and Differentiation under the title ‘Thymidylate synthase maintains the de-differentiated state of triple negative breast cancers’ by Siddiqui et al. The research shows the importance of thymidylate catabolism in maintenance of aggressive nature of these tumors.

Farewell to Dr. Caroline Bosch-Voskens and Prof. Holger Schulze in their last meeting of the junior scientist committee on December, 6th 2018.

In 2019, Advanced Projects, Junior Projects and the Clinician Scientist Programme will be announced again.

The IZKF calls for applications for the Publication Award for Young Scientists which is endowed with 1.000 €.

The IZKF General Meeting 2018 took place on November 14th in the Harald zur Hausen lecture hall in Krankenhausstr. 12.

On October 17th this year’s IZKF Postgraduate Workshop will take place in the “Neues Hörsaalzentrum". Posters can be submitted by all doctoral students of the Life@FAU from now until September 17th 2018.

In May the annual report 2017 of the IZKF was published.

Cell copies parts of its DNA genome as RNA to guide the manufacturing of the proteins it needs to function normally. To respond to their environment, the cells need to tightly regulate which proteins to make, and do so primarily by controlling the RNA production. How do the cells adjust RNA production?
